upgrade from 9700Pro to 6600GT - reformat?

I remember reading somewhere, don't quite remember where, maybe Tweaktown?, that when you switch brands of video card you should reformat your HD and reinstall windows. Is this true? I could see why it would happen (driver conflicts, etc.), but if you use driver cleaner, wouldn't that get rid of any possible problems? I'd like to get the 6600, but I'd rather not reformat....

Not necessary. Driver cleaner should do the job, granted your OS is not too bloated by itself. After all, you can always reformat later if you decide to do so .
