problems i have noticed with the bfg 6800 ultra oc

Had this card for a little while now...and I have noticed some minor problems still....the card sometimes tends to cause a sort of..."Flicker" effect....I dont know why exactly...but I have noticed this periodically when the card gets a little stressed....Maybe it could be my monitor since it runs @ a 60hz refresh rate...I dont know...but i get this from time to time. I also have a few other problems...I will play call of duty and the textures witll get really messed up on some maps...when i am looking toward the sky or at open areas....Dont know if any of you have experienced that...but I dont know...

I have tried many drivers and problems still occur...If this card was a defect I would have already taken it back...trust me...but i think it could be something else wrong....

If you know of any of these problems...or have figured out how to fix them...please give me some insight.

Thank you.

I really want to ask you why the hell your monitor only goes to 60hz refresh rate, but I wont bother. Are you using vertical sync when you play games?

well, put some little pipe stuff ont he video card and see if it works better. lol , jk.

What settings are you running your card at when you play your games? And is it a flicker like you said, or is it more of a studder? A flicker would be something like your monitor turns off, then back on. A studder would be where you always have an image, but it kinda pauses for a split second or so. Big difference.

I too have this card, almost a year now. I only recently noticed a CoD texture issue like what you described. Not on all maps, just a few. I have a 19" flat panel so I doubt it's your monitor. They only thing I have done differently lately is put Windows 64 on, then took it back off since the CoD expansion wont even install under it. I know that has nothing to do with it, but it seemed ok prior to that. I am running a new driver I have3 never ran before and plan on changing it here in a few. The driver is by tweaksrus.

the monitor would only be a problem if it kept shutting itself off. from what i am understanding in his initial post, is that the monitor is fine, but it is studdering when playing games. That should be a problem in the in-game settings. That would be my guess at least.
