GeForce5200 PCI>>>GeForce 5500 PCI ?
I dont have an AGP slot on my motherboard, and upgrading it is not an option. So I am stuck with using a PCI graphics card. I've had the 5200 PCI for about a year now, I've played games like Max Payne 2 and Splinter Cell. A PNY 5500 PCI is out now. Is it worth it to upgrade? Will there be a noticible difference? Thanks.

they are basically the same card. the 5500 is just clocked higher. save your $$ for a 6800GT or something.

diffrent core maybe a little higher clocks better card 4 pixel pipes but going by the specs it's not going to be much faster FYI:the 5200 really, really, really, sucks, sell it on ebay,
Also there is the 5700LE PCI out as well and thats alot better
but then again man there a pint wer your system & PCI buss bandwith
will hold back the card...
so you could get a much faster card and see little to no differance
might be time to concentrate on a system upgrade but i'd tell you to get the 5700LE PCI if you going to get something

No the system is fine, its only a year old P4 2.6ghz, 512mb of RAM, I put in a DVD-RW drive and bought a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS card with 5.1 speakers. The only thing I wasnt aware of at the time when I bought the PC was PC gaming. I've always stuck to my PS2. So I didnt know about the advantage AGP has over PCI.
Anyone to make a long story short, where can I find the 5700LE PCI card?

well it a low end main stream card, the others listed 5200/5500 are really value cards. They also can cange levels down word as new products take thier place...
this isn't exact but gies you an IDEA
FASTEST~
"High end"
High end
low end
"Mainsteam"
High end
low end ---->5700le
"Value"
High --->5500
low ---->5200
Slowest ~
Also AGP and PCIe cards are much better then the PCI couter parts

5600 is just a faster 5200.... and thier both what i'd call CRAP! They weren't real hot when they wer released and now they've gotten outdated fast...
If your upgradeing you really should look at the 5700 series or "higher"

Not sure.. especally when your talking about PCI wich is pretty bandwith limited
like I said earlier AGP is better and faster and so are the cards
and actually afte looking at some stock bechmarks
the 5600 seems to beat the 5700LE by a little but
When overclocked it's another story
I still think your better off upgradeing your systems guys..
then getting an AGP card

Get the 6200 PCI from 3dFuzion (BFG's sub company) or get it directly from BFG, the 6200 OC PCI: http://bfgtech.com/6200_256_PCI.html

guy save yourself a lot of money an just buy a motherboard with pci-e that will fit with your cpu. you can always use the pci card for a while longer and later get a pci-e card. you just going to wast money on that pci cards. they more expensive because of the extra chip they have to put on the card so that it can run in a pci slot. and the performence increase you get is very poor. just gat yourself up to date with technoligy. pci-e is gonna be here for a while.
to build up a pc is to build for the future. buy something that will last. thats my advise to you.
