Hello everyone!
Well, I got my PNY 6800GT about a month ago. It only took 15min. after installation before I wanted to torture the SOB. Well trying to OC to Ultra for some reason was just out of reach. I could only get 1.05 on my memory from coolbits 2, and throttled at 425Mhz GPU...I was crushed
So, I forced it with expert tool to ultra memory and didn't suffer any severe problems. This lead to me believe one of the following....
1.) Temperature was to high
2.) I wasn't getting enough juice....
Low and behold, it was #2.
So, for anyone whom has had trouble with their OC's...I think a guide is needed...also note, it's not a physical mod! This involves editing your cards bios! 6800 NU or FX users will not get direct benefit from this guide without the input of others (unless they seek bios from their and or other companies to find voltages)

0) Option: PRINT THIS GUIDE***
1) Download
Omni Extreme Edit FX...make sure you got the latest ver.
2) Download
NV Flash...make sure you got the latest ver.
3) Make a DOS startup disk
4) Put NVflash on a floppy
5) Breathe and prepare yourself for anything that can go wrong (Prepare PCI cards if you got them, just in case of a bad flash...unless you want to flash blind in emergency^_-)
6) Okay, make sure you are set to boot off floppy.
7) Boot off startup disk...
8) once in DOS insert the NVflash disk
9) now make a DOS line that looks like this "A:\>nvflash -b a:\backup.rom" without quotes. If all goes well it should have said firmware image saved.
10) reboot PC and open Omni Edit up...
11) Go to file>Open Bios>My Computer>A:>BACKUP.rom
12) Now, look at your 3D voltage. The GT has 1.3 (at least for later ones, not sure on earlier) while the Ultra has 1.4! If you have a GT and you are trying to hit Ultra and over pop it up to 1.4. I wouldn't suggest 1.5 without a good cooling solution...also you can change clock speeds but that is not what the guide is for...save the bios as new.rom
13) Back to DOS
14) With the nvflash disk in and the A prompt type a line that looks like "A:\>nvflash new.rom" without quotes
15) Your Bios should start flashing now, and if your monitor goes blank look at the keyboad caps and # lock...they should be flashing back and forth...
16) If successful, reboot back to Windows
17) now OC to your hearts content (within reason n00bs), and be happy ^_^
If anything goes wrong do tell, something may have changed in newer ver. of the ultility...
Doing this I got a 425/1100 OC (not pushing mem, no reason too after hitting BFG Ultra OC ed. with a single slot solution and saving $100)
My temps are 61C Idle and not sure underload...I think around 72C from what I remember?
Anyway, ENJOY!
