??? 6800GT cooling???

i was just wondering before i rip apart my GT if i applying arctic silver 5 to the memory and core would it change temp alot? alittle? im thinking alot but im not sure thx for the help

System Specs

It wont make much difference with the stock hsf. If you're going to do anything, get a Silencer 5 to slap it on there. I also only recommend Arctic Ceramique for use on video cards so you dont risk killing the card

thx guys ill take it apart and put the paste on. i cant get the copper cooler casue the cooling with this bfg isnt stock its copper/heatpipe so ill give it a whirl

oh. you have the dual fan one then. heck, it's worth a shot with the AS. it probably won't make that much difference. maybe a couple of degrees.

nah dude, go for it. they use similar stuff on the core, and they dont physically inspect all RMAs either. and, unless you're planning on screwing it up, you shouldnt have to RMA it. it will make your card run better in the long run.

System Specs

i took apart my card a while back, and put on AS 5 on all the memory chips, and also on the core. It made a huge improvement on my cards temps. It kept it 5 degrees Celcius on both idle and load cooler by just using AS 5. It was worth it taking the card apart.
