Did nVidia ever make their own cards?
I cant remember if I have ever seen a BBN (built by nVidia) card in my life. Have they EVER built their own cards? Do they still? (im pretty sure not).

Have you seen a 6800 for sale by nVidia themselves in a store or online retailer?

well heck I mean most of the ATI cards that you see from other companies are really made in the same factory as the BBA ones.
I was just wondering if they ever had BBN cards around. guess not. ^^

heres a breif history lesson. nvidia once made their own video cards way back in the day. but they realized that the profit wasnt in the cards but would actually b within the chipsets themselves. so they stopped making video cards and began distrubuting their chipset instead to companies like asus, xfx, etc, etc... and i think its the best thing they ever did. let the other companies duke it out about whose the best videocard maker and we will worry about getting u the best chipset technology. and it worked. nvidia blow up and the card makers are just another name associated with it.
and that its for todays lessons class, class dismissed! =)
(please note this was told to me by an oldskool gamer. so yea believe it or not im sure it true. )
the cards used by alot of reviews about the 6600s & 6800s on several sites were actually manufactured by nvidia.

Majority of ANY company the makes any chip has a "reference" design.... so techically every company makes there own cards first..... (many different version...) ....
before that.. they actually try to fully simulate the cards using a massive monster rig that mimics the hardware.... (basically a super computer trying to mimic a video card)
alot of the 3rd party card makers use the reference design... however alot like to make changes.... sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse (allthough no on purpose)
