Anyone have an ASUS v9999GT/TD?
Just curious if anyone owns this gfx card? I've been doing a bit of research and can't figure out if it comes equipped with DDR3 or plain DDR?
It's meant to be a 6800GT with 128mb of ram from what I can gather....

Anyone?

Well i think its plain dddr with a 256bit interface, the thing im more interested about is if the card has 12 or 16 Pipes. I have heard alot of things but im still not sure, im keeping my eyes in one of those..

That thread is about Asus V9999GE and not about Asus V9999GT/TD.
V9999GT/TD has 6800GT GPU and that means 16 pipelines. I have read from other forums that the memory type is indeed the old DDR1 though. Too bad there is no useful reviews about the card yet. Atleast I have not been able to find any.

Either way Asus have shoot themselfs in the Foot with their Lastest line up of Cards.
The Gaming Edition of the 6800 is not as powerfull as most 6800GT's and then their 6800GT edition is crippled with only 128mb of ram. And I swear I heard the earlier versions of it had DDR 1.
I always say go Asus as I know they are Quality and a well manage company. Still this time they didnt have anything to offer me as the BFG, eVGA, PNY, etc 6800GT Cards had 256mb of DDR3 and then the BFG was even Overclocked right out of the Box. Not to mention the lifetime warranty it came with, also made by a American Company.
Why would you pay money for Either of the Asus Cards when you can get something that is better for about the same Price???

it is a 6800 board with 6800 mem & a 6800gt core.
unless you are getting it for at least$50 cheaper than a real gt i would not go anywhere near it.
if there actually is gddr3 vers out there that means there are 2 types & you have no clue to which you are getting.
just went to asus again. it says right there it is 128 ddr. not gddr3.
do not know how they get away with calling it a'gt' you would think nvidia would get a little touchy abouy that.
at least they are not hiding or trying to mislead people like leadtek did. though i am sure there is quite a few people out there who think they are getting a 1/2 the ram gt.

For the $$ they want, it's not worth. I would get a real GT instead.

I can get the Asus V9999 6800GT/TD-128 for $150 less then a MSI NX6800GT, so... to me... it might just be worth it

Checked Maximum PC, and V9999 Gamer Edition is NOT the same card.
So yes, I know the gamer edition is misleading. But it doesn't have DDR3 memory.
The V9999GT/TD/128 does.

"The V9999GT/TD/128 does."
no it does not. the ONLY thing gt abot the td/128 is the gpu. the board & mem are base 6800.

This is what Asus.com says about the card:
" High-Speed GDDR3 memory interface"
Now, show me a review that says otherwise.
Not trying to be mean or anything, but I'm inclined to believe the makers of the card, until proven otherwise by professionals.

yes it has the interface, just not the mem to go with it . the interface is on die. so you have a 6800 gt(low speed bin imo) on a 6800 board with 6800 mem.
proof - from asus http://usa.asus.com/products/vga/v9999gt/overview.htm
says 128 ddr.
http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=V9999GT/TD&langs=09
again ddr.
and here is the ultra w256/gddr3
http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=...A/2DT&langs=09
proof enough? also take a look at the boards themselves. compare it to other 6800 boards & gt/ultra boards. you can see the diff. hope that clears things up.

lol! even though asus, unlike leadtek, has the actual specs on their site it is presented in a confusing manner. seems to be some disinformation/confusion running around about this too.
i have always believed i doing research before buying stuff, but it is just getting rediculous. you almost have to read the fine print & have some sort of degree to figure out what it is you are getting.
& even then it is not for sure.

I have a v9999GT and i can tell you that it has 16 pipelines, 6 vertex units, and has ddr1 128mb, and are verry powerful gfx cards, not much of a performance drop from a full fat 6800 ultra card.

v9999GT/TD review
Hi,
I'm looking for a deal too with the new high end 6800 and X800 cards. I found a serious review from digit-life which does a very good work at reviewing video cards, among other things. Take also a look at their tremendous work of comparing every video chipset from TNT2 to now! Very cool!
For the Asus card:
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/...index0410.html
"The favourite of all usability ratings of this issue became ASUS V9999GT 128MB graphics card that demonstrated excellent ratio of price and performance."
And more precisely:
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/...00-gt-128.html
Cheer!
