Performance problems....

i am at a loss of what is wrong.

i was playing doom3 up until yesterday and getting 70fps then i wanted to play CS last nite and the only setting i changed was turning on AA and AF.

now when i try to play i get 45fps and i can't figure out why

also my 3dmark03 score has dropped from 12000 to 10000 and i can't figure that out either.

I uninstalled the driver and i used Driver cleaner in safe mode. but i cant figure out what the heck is wrong. and it is starting to really piss me off.

any help?

Could Steam be possibly downloading an update or Half-life2 to your computer, thus slowing performance down?

You can right-click on the steam icon in your systemtray and choose 'monitor' to have a check.

no steam isnt on when i have any other games or programs running.

OK, i had folding turned on so that explains the low performance from the benchmark, but not Doom, because i scored 70fps on many runs of the demo with folding turned on.

you haven't made any other changes other than drivers have you? can you verify the clock of your video card? aa and antialiasing make a big hit on frame rates. work your way back and maybe you will find the problem.

anyway it turned out somehow my doom install went bad, i don't know how, but i reinstalled and it is all better now
