Good choice. I'm not exactly fond of nVidia (to say the least) but the 6800GT is a fine choice indeed.
... and NewEgg is friggin' awesome.

My Suggestion would be using the 66.31 Drivers. Benched over 10,000 for me. (3DMark03)

Wired how do you like that MX1000? I've got a MX700 I love but I'm drooling over the 1000, and have you tried Rivatuner?

To answer both those questions:
1. Yes, the mouse is very nice. Although IT mixed with The 6800GT I've got...for some reason doesn't play very well with UnrealTournament (99). Just seems laggy...
On any other game...runs crystal clear, and perfectly precise. UT2004, I've had no probs nailin' people on Instagib servers.
(btw, the 66.31 drivers have some interesting D3D glitches in the older games. )
2. Can't say that I play with overclocking much on stuff that's still under warranty...so no, I haven't played with RivaTuner for the card.

Well if you're into instagib, stop by the thread about the DH dedicated servers and hop on the game of your choice. We've got the DH fragfest this weekend saturday night, winner gets to choose a custom skin for playing on the server and a stick of PC277 Crucial I'm giving away to the winner.

And nevermind about that weird lag problem I was talkin' about with UT.
I happened to forget when I went from a 128MB 4200Ti to a 256MB 6800GT, that I had to change the aperture size in the BIOS to avoid that little problem. (doh) Went through my old techin' steps n' figured out that I'd missed that little tidbit. Now everything runs smooth as silk.

Nice card Poopy, I can't say I blame you for choosing it. If I was going to buy a top-end card right now this second, it would be hard not to buy the same one. I would be very happy with and X800 card too, but it's all about the money/performance really. -It probably depends on what games you play too though.

Either card I think you'd be happy with I agree, like you said though for the price/perf ratio it's a great deal. I'll be updating on installation etc as soon as I can get it in my box!

what you need:
coolbits 2
rivatuner 2.0
66.31 (or .32) drivers
and of course, a nice format would help

well, if i had a choice between 6800u and x800xt pe, i'd get the 6800u. just as expensive, and performs better in the games i'll be playing more often.

I'd say no to either and wait for the NV50 and R520... They both will have PS3 and all and run better! And the R520 is from the 9700 Pro team...

The X800 cards are from a different team than the 9700pro? I though all ATI cards were made by the "ATI TEAM" --- Hmmmmm......
