Replacing a fan on Visiontek Geforce3

Hey guys, my old Visiontek Geforce3 Ti4200 fan finally gave out. I wanted to do something other than attemping to pry off the heatsink with a screw driver. So I desided to just keep the heatsink and modify a small 12v fan with a dremel and add a couple of rubber feet below it to give it proper spacing.

The fan was about $1 or so off of Ebay, and the seller was local, so shipping was a quick and cheap. The fan of choice was a Fonsan DC Brushless 12v fan, it has a .08a draw and spins at over 6000 rpms. The model number of the fan is DFB0412M incase you want to fine them.

Here are some pics of what I did:

I hope it helps some of you guys save a buck or two.

Nope, it is nice and quiet.
You can look up specs here

The only difference on that page is that it says that the M model uses .06 amps not .08 amps, however the sticker on my fan reads 12v .08 amps and it is the M version that I have.

In comparison to a thermaltake Blue Orb.... The blue orb is rated at 26.4 dBa and runs at 5500rpm.
.Blue Orb Specs

The Fonsan is rated for 26dBa at 6000rpm.

I would have posted this on the Visiontek website, but it seems you need to be part of their elite group to be able to post on their forums. They even ask for a serial number when you register. Sucks for those who want to ask questions prior to buying.
