Removing heatsinks

Huhu!

I've got the right version of the Van. Iceberq on the way, but now I turn to the interesting problem of removing my old heatsink/fan from my Ge4 FX5600. The pushpins come out alright, but beyond that it won't go any further. I heard someone say you have to stick it in a freezer or something? Maybe that was a fantastical dream. Hoo boy.

Anyway, anybody have any guidelines or URLs which might help?

Love you all.

I usually just keep on pulling up and slightly twist the Heatsink. Take your time and be careful it will be a booger to get off but just pull and twist and it eventually will come off.

I second what todd says, you need to pull and twist - it will be stiff as it is stuck on with thermal glue, but you won't damage the core - you may have to pull quite a bit!
