??? nvidia 5900 ultra mouse scroll noise!

I just got my new alienware system today. I have a Nvidia 5900 ultra vid. card. I get noise in my tower when I scroll with the mouse wheel. I remember reading other people had this problem too. Does anyone know of this issue and any possible fixes? Alienware was unaware of this issue and cannot help me at this point.

Read about this somewhere, dunno if a driver release fixed it... turning off smooth scrolling in IE/windows apparently fixes it.

Get Alienware to exchange the card. Its a problem with some cards and cannot be completely fixed by drivers. The problem is capacators on the card clicking/resonating when you scroll. Unfortunatly there are other situations when it happens...like in Aquamark3 - all the time and Star Wars Galaxies to name two. Oh and when expanding menus in word/office.

Nvidia know its a problem, i've spoken to them about it and there is plenty of info about it on the web.

If Alienware refuse to accept its a problem i'll be happy to pass them on to the guys in Nvidia who know of the problem.
Just get them to mail me at veridian3@driverheaven.net
(i had a few review samples with this bug and it was damn annoying)

noisy wheel

thanks I thought It was corrected by turning off smooth scrolling but it shows up in windows help when I scroll. I am going to do as you suggest and start gettin' on Alienware about it. Hopefully I'll have some cooperation! I waited long enough for this system I dont want to wait more, but I also want my moneys worth!
