Lol ... yea they'll most likely increase the 30% cheats in their drivers to 40% lol.... so take the benchmark score minus 30% and u get 5900's real score....
Don’t be leave everything you hear.......
9800 pro rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well since i saw the post HLF2 performance i am selling my nvidia card and so is our clan - 10 of us in total. So Nvidia can read this and perhaps take note of the publics view on their fantastic repuation with that excellent moto "The way games are meant to be played"... i guess they mean loss of frame rate. i also saw a moto on their site and it says "The world wide leader in visual processing solutions" Anyone prove this?

theoretically new drivers should improve things for g/cards but i have always had problems with performance with nvidia cards including several driver updates so i wouldn't hold up much hope for the 50.** drivers.
but could be worth holding on just a little longer to try those out first to see how they are.unless you need to change as quick as possible.

From what I've been able to determine, the only way to beat the performance of a 9800Pro is to overclock a 9800Pro.
nVidia's current line of cards just aren't up to the task in DX9 apps. ATI just straight-up whooped their butts this time around and that's all there is to it.

I will wait for the 50 dets to come out and if they suck its getting pulled for sure. The 9800P is an amazing card and we are finally getting a taste of its true power.

hehe, kind of. I think I told ya a while ago I had the chance to play around with one and I kinda ended up selling my old 9700P for it since the price was way too good to pass up at the time. I did screw myself because I gave my brother probably one of the best OCing 9800's on the planet and the 5900s turned out to be a joke, but I am grabbing the new ATi offering as soon as it comes out for sure. The thing that really suxs though is that I had to buy my 9700 back because it didn't work out for the person who bought it, so I'm stuck with all these useless cards, lol. Life is good at coming back and kicking ya in the balls my friend.

You mean the 9700P? Well, I was told it was giving the checker boarding effect in games although it was fine in 2D. It worked fine for me, but maybe it got damaged during shipping. I will have to test it out before I consider selling it again; I can’t be selling and buying back cards because they don't work lol.

arent ATI's better performers on half life 2 because they got to optimize their drivers earlier as they are a valve partner, if so then surely the new detonators will perform the same or better. if those drivers dont come out soon like in a week im swpaping my card for a 9800 pro 256 mb i dont think theyll let me return it after the time its already been. any suggestions on a 9800pro to buy?
