confused 5600 ultra owner help

ive been looking around on the web for articles to do with my gainward gf fx 5600 ultra card (256mb)
(not a golden sample)
and they all seem to imply that my core and memory settings are ment to be 400 core and 700 mem
(they maybe talking about the golden sample cards)

but when i look in display propertys my 2d is at 270mhz and 400mhz and 3d is 300mhz and 400mhz
this also the same in my expert tool software

im very confused is this correct ? as my old geforce 4 mx 440 had simular same clock speeds
270 core and 400 mem
anybody out there have the same card as me and are your clock speeds the same ?

ive tryed to email gainward but ive not had any responce

ive double checked and my card is an ultra i clocked the card today to 350mhz
with no problems (i got an extra 145 3d marks (3dm2003)
i also have the dawn demo and i can run the ultra version

also how do you mean a 256mb card without ultra clock speeds ???
beacause it has 256mb the clock speeds are lower ???
if its an ultra card shouldnt it have the same core speeds as a 128mb card ?

i made sure i brought an ultra model as the bandwith on a standard 5600 is only 8.4gb(my old gf4mx440 was 6.4gb) where as an ultra is 12.8gb i payed £150 from dabs for it and the basic 5600 was only £115

also i looked below the barcaode sticker on the box and it says i need an extra power lead but there isnt a connecter for it on the card have i been conned ??
im even more confused now !

the card you described sounds exactly like mine except mine ISNT an Ultra....mine is the Gainward 5600 non gold...(256mb)

270 core/ 400 mem for 2d
300 core/ 400 mem for 3d

all i can think of is that you have been mislead by the big silver sticker!! mine says"Ultra/780 TV/DVI" (on sticker) but it is only a normal 5600.

is that what your big silver sticker says??.....

Markius is correct, i have a Gainward Geforce4 Ti4200 and it also has the silver sticker that states "Ultra/650-8X" and it has the slower DDR memory, only their Gold Series have the faster memory chips. Gainward is very misleading on this issue
