NVIDIA Fermi to have lifelike 3D, mobile GPUs soon

A pair of leaks have revealed NVIDIA's Fermi hardware should both be a dramatic visual upgrade and have a quick release of mobile parts. A post (30/10/2009) on a Chinese forum shows samples of the graphics chipset that include 3D rendered faces with both extremely high detail as well as particularly complex visual effects, such as natural-looking facial hair or skin glare. One also shows the level of detail possible with relatively fast raytraced lighting.

for Fermi to have this, wouldn't it be bottlenecked by the rest of the system?

Like they said , it mostly aren't real time rendering and most card can do this "it is just the amount of time taken that changes" that's why with high end card you get more FPS than lower end one if the setting are the same .

If its true, then this is a massive leap and will pretty much be the limit of graphics. Whats next? You can't get any better than reality...

Re: NVIDIA Fermi to have lifelike 3D, mobile GPUs soon

Lets make it clear. Like Z said the pictures have nothing to do with Fermi. As you can read in the XS thread Just Learnin' posted the first two are screenshots from a short film (titles for the Playgrounds festival), and the last one is probably some random render found on net.

Loks like someone is trying hard to discourage people from buying ATI cards

Re: NVIDIA Fermi to have lifelike 3D, mobile GPUs soon

I for one am getting tired of all the "hype" surrounding team green, they've got nothing, they just recently taped (for a second time) and engineering sample... They've got vaporware for now, and for that, they deserve to be punished hard. Just as AMD was punished hard for getting to comfy with their Athlon Line and intel beat their arse with the i7s. Welcome to competition, Complacency brings loss in the tech industry.
