Geforce 9600GT 512mb gaming problem !

i have a Geforce 9600GT 512mb.
when i play a game after a few minutes the game run slow for about 20 seconds then it's over and will it come back in a few minutes. the whole time.
it makes me crazy and don't know what to do i have tryed everything.
i have installed the latest nvidia drivers and updates.

pc stuff :

AMD athlon 6000+ 3.1ghz
Coolemaster 550 WATT
3 gig memory

anyone can help or have the same problem???

Check the temperatures of your system. Sometimes when it gets to hot, it slows down

a lot of the 9600GT have a single slot fan on them it might be overheating...but try lowering the settings see what happens..btw what games is it doing this on?

It's with all games that i play new games and old games.
The temperature is good so it's not that problem.
I have found a website with my problem :

AMD Processors Forums - Games Run Fine then they hang or freez for a few seconds ASUS M2N-MX, Problem Solwed !

i hope it solved my problem
haven't tryed it yet.

maybe there is an other solution for my problem?

Question :

i read on internet that it might be can solved with a bios update for my videocard.
now i don't know how to update a videocard bios i only know a motherboard bios to update. and i busy putting a fan on my mobo maybe that works.

What brand your vga is? for instance my gainward has a bios update utility that is very easy to use. There are companies that release a program that updates your vga bios within windows then it restarts your pc and your set
But before taking the bios update root try updating your drivers
also some times those problems are specific to some games (i get the exact same think in race driver grid and dark messiah but everything else runs like a charm on my 8800gt)

I know this is a forum for graphics cards, but it honestly sounds to me like a hard drive issue. Do these slowdowns occur outside of games?

Unless you solved the issue already, as it has been some time since you first posted.

I would like to hear what your current situation is.

Try unplug it and plugging it back it. Solved some of my problems.
