XFX 9800 GTX+ vs Sapphire HD 4870
I'm currently building a new rig, detailed in system specs.
I'm looking at getting 2x XFX 9800 GTX+ for SLI with the XFX nforce 780i Mobo.
However, i understand that the Sapphire HD 4870 stand-alone is a superior card?
Whats your opinions? I've always prefered nVidia products as they're reliable, trusted and quality GPUs. However with the current Speculation of "nVidia going bust" i've been quite apprehensive to buy.
It'll take more then some speculation to sway me from nvidia, however i dont want to purchase 2 new cards, just to find out that the company has folded and driver support is going to be unavailable.
Appreciate any feedback i can get. Cheers.

NVidia isn't folding lol. I think that is just rumor-mongering from some quarteres within the industry.
As far as the choice between ATI & Nvidia goes I would be going Nvidia. You have an Nvidia board made for sli. Why go with ATI?
I do not have sufficient knowledge to speak about the comparison between 1x4870 or 2x9800GTX+ so I will leave that to others

You could always go with a 4870x2, and then you don't need to worry about crossfire support

780i is a horrible motherboard
go with ATI and an intel P45 or X48 board and on the cards subject, dual 4850s beat 2x 9800GTX+, 2x 9800GTX+ beats a single 4870 and nothing tops dual 4870s except maybe a 4870X2

I've already got the mobo.
The 9800GTX+ seems to be a nice card, considering i have an SLI mobo thats why ive been leaning towards the 9800GTX+'s.
Not to mention ive always prefered nVidia to ATI, nothing against ATi as there latest products prove they can make great GPU's, i just like nVidia better.
