switching from ati to nvidia...

hey guys,

right now i have a amd operton 185 dualcore clocked at 2.8ghz, 2gb crucial pc3200 ram, sapphire x1950pro and a abit at8 motherboard.

i want to upgrade to a 8800GT but will it work on my motherboard? the GFX card will be a temp upgrade untill i build my new PC (will be using the same gfx card)

but i'm wondering, will my other pc parts be a bottleneck? i don't think i can run it in SLI mode because this is an ATi crossfire board.

thanks,

-Joe

Yeah single 8800 GT will work on that mobo. And yes the rest of your system is bottlenecking the card a bit. But if you are going to upgrade your PC later then that's a good temporary solution.
