I'm not aware of any other way...sorry.

If you can temporarily get hold (from anyone) of any 65 or 90nm cpu from the celeron, prescott, pentium d, dual core, c2d or Quad that is 800MHz or above then you should have no problem flashing the BIOS. You only need it for few a few minutes as you could download the BIOS to floppy using your existing system so you are ready. Alternatively, if you could pick a cheap second-hand LGA775 90nm 800MHz celeron or prescott for $10-15 CAD from a local computer shop then that would 100% work.

Maybe start another thread in the hardware forum asking this question and whether your current 533MHz 805 Pentium D would work in this respect to enable BIOS update. All you need is to be able to boot to floppy once. You may get some useful feedback on this subject.

Depending on how long it is 'till you get the money together you'll may find that retailers will soon have in stock boards with the updated BIOS already pre-installed by the manufacturer. And new boards will be coming out soon that will have none of the compatability problems.
