Bad Problems with NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Integrated CPU

This problem began quite pointlessly. I downloaded a game and it kept giving me a "DirectX 8.0 or above" error when I had DirectX 9.0 **THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM, THIS IS JUST HOW IT BEGAN**. I consulted a friend and he told me to download the graphic driver located @ Driver Download

It turned out that the game had a directx bug problem, so I wasnt worried.

After downloading the driver, I opened my "Zune" Music Player, which includes some complex backgrounds and design's. It didn't look right at all. It looked like someone put the background through a blender. Here's a pic:

So I was like. oh well, my zune must be corrupted. I was wrong.

I installed a game called Guild Wars on my comp. The game is an old version of the game, and completely compatible with my computer, infact i used to play that game 24/7 on this computer. Lol.

In any event, the same thing happened with that game. Here's a picture:

So I'm quite mad at this point... so i decided to roam around dxdiag a bit. I click on the "Display" tab and click the button "Test Direct3D".

This test is composed of 3 stages, all involve a spinning cube with the DIRECTX logo on all sides.

The first test tests Direct3D 7 Interfaces. I passed that. Then I proceeded to test 2 that tested Direct3D 8 Interfaces. I failed that one. Same thing with the last test, that tests Direct3D 9 Interfaces. Here is a pic of what it looked like when I failed:

According to dxdiag, here are my stats:

Name: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Integrated CPU
Total Memory: 64 MB
Main Drivers: nv4_disp.dll
Windows XP Home Edition
DirectX 9.0c

I'm no computer expert, so don't expect much from me.

I'm aware that it's integrated so I can't change the gfx card, or I'd do that. I'm aware that my computer sucks.

List of things that ARE NOT AN OPTION:
-Reformating
-New GFX Card
-New Computer
-Giving up.

Thanks for any help,

~Fouisgras

System Specs

have u tried to update the direct X itself? here is the latest november build from file hippo, download, create a folder on your desktop, unzip to the folder and run the .exe and reboot. If this doesnt work a reformat may be nesscesary. What version of XP home do you have? SP1,SP2, the original? if its anything less than XP w/SP2 i suggest a reformat and update reguardless.
