exclamation GeForce 7900 GS XFX: Shows 5MB instead of 256MB

I dont know where to start from.. I built up my system around 6 months ago, all working superbly, until a few weeks ago, i realised a bit of sluggynes when watching videos or playing games..

So the other day i was about to install a program, and upon installation it stopped and said that the software requires atleast 45MB of Graphics Card Video Memory. and showed mine as 5MB!!!

However my card has 256MB..!!

Now im thinking is this why my videos are slow? Games play is crap? Is something wrong with my Graphics Card.

I installed Unreal Tournament a few days ago and after game play my CPU whent up to 80Degrees and RAM went to 128 Degrees!!! I quickly switched off the machine..!!

So something is definately wrong but what. where.. and how can i fix it?

Ive reinstalled the drivers a few times... I tried an older version, now i have the latest and same prob.. I dont think its a driver issue..

The DxDiag says no problems found, However in the Display Tab, The DirectDraw Acceleration and AGP Texture Acceleration buttons are disabled..

One friend told me that it could be not enough power going in to the Graphics card.. Can that be the case? Shall change the input with another power cable from the PowerSupply..?

Is this card PCI-E or AGP?

600W PSU sounds good. Can you tell how many amps you got on 12V ? you should be able to see it in a sticker on the PSU's side.

K i just found the box for it.. Its:

Hiper Power - Low noise power supply unit

Supports ATX 12V up to ver2.2

Built in Sata & PCI-E connector...

(Im not sure if I've connected the Special PCI-E connecter to the GCard or a normal power supply one.. need to check)

Make sure that the 6-pin PCI-E plug is connected to the GFX card. And it would help to know the model of your PSU since Hipper has a lot of PSU's in the 600W range ....

Hiper Power - Low noise power supply unit

Type M - 580W

----Edit----

Ok i just opened my pc and cleaned it a little as there was quite a lot of dust...

I even changed the 6 pin power cable which when to the Gcard with another one...

I now run the DXDiag and i get the following...:

No problems found.
DirectDraw test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D 7 test results:
Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of memory)
Direct3D 8 test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D 9 test results: All tests were successful.

And i still cant install that program because it STILL shows my Gcard memory as 5MB!!

HELP!
