Definite Hardwar problem with my 7950gx2

When I go into DUEL GPU mode I get artificats in 2D mode on my screen when I am in Windows. When I pl;ay 3D games, like Oblivion, CS, Bioshock or any other my FPS is much lower and it struggles a lot.

When in Single GPU mode I don't get any issues. I have a problem the other chip is damaged. I never overclocked the card, so i don't understand how this happened to it, and it's only 6 months old. Since I got it. Is there anyway i can return for a RMA exchange or no?

yea, it sounds like one of the two GPUs if failing.

if it's only 6 months old, i'm sure it still falls under the manufacturer warranty of 1yr. but each manufacturer is different. who is the manufacturer?

How does this card hold up to the cards that are out now?

how is that relevant to the original post? but to answer your question, according to Tom's Hardware, it is slightly better than the 320Mb 8800GTS, and slightly worse than the 640Mb 8800GTS on an overall scale. I'm sure that there are some games where either of the two 8800 cards will out perform it by a significant margin.

Got my replacement, OH MY GOD much better. I don't understand how the chip burned out I have plenty of ventilation and religiously clean the dust off the vents of the card.

the tomshardware guides are pretty outdated so im pretty sure the 8800 cards are significantly more powerful than the time of review.... driver updates

right, but don't you think that those same driver updates won't also affect/increase the performance of any other supported product?

it's nothing to trust. it's just a place to go to for reference and/or comparisons of different products. the same gfx card would perform differently, read better or worse, depending on the other system components installed.
