Why are you using Windows98SE? You are kinda of throwing money away by buying all this old stuff you know.
And thats a PCI 2.1 card, PCI 2.0 has the separation toward the expansion slot side. And make sure your Mobo supports 2.1, and 2.0
But for a short desc of the differences.

PCI 2.1 adds concurrent processing (the ability for PCI to transfer while the CPU bus and/or ISA bus are also transferring), a couple of new card ID data elements added, and a few other minor changes, including some things which were optional in PCI 2.0 made mandatory in 2.1. For the most part these changes were very minor, and most PCI 2.1-compliant cards will work in PCI 2.0 systems.

Ever since the year 2000, i have been planning to change the world, by helping people and animals on a very large scale. And by ending poverty, discrimination and other important things that needs to be change. I was going to change the world back in 2002, but something personal came up that kinda of set me back big time.

http://www.digi.com/pdf/prd_msc_pcitech.pdf
Page 7, shows several types of slots.
From the card picture, it looks like a PCI card keyed for 5v working only - PCI cards with both slots cut are "universal".
Is your system slot keyed for 5V (far end) or 3.3v (plate end) ?

lol, i admit i got a chuckle out of this kinds of posts, but he can be serious as well.
open the world for real, there are people out there still owning Windows 98 and their very old and legacy or very outdated computer systems, some can't afford a computer of their own at all, and when they have a chance to use a computer they are using Windows 98 systems, that's all available to some people.
as for the op's post, try emailing BFG Tech support ( support@bfgfixx.com ) and consult them whether or not the PCI card can be used in your system board.

I have 400 pc games, about 80% of them are old ones, from blood 2, turok 2, The Whole colletion of the TR series, um Will Rock, Contract Jack, War Gods, Mortal Kombat 1 - 4, and lots more. Older games i am just use to playing on windows98se and they seem to work better.
However, i dont spend alot of money on what i buy for windows98se. And just to let you know, i plan to buy a super xp computer with one of the most powerful PCI-E video cards in a few months, just for the newer pc games. But i have no plans to rid my windows98se, i use it for everything.

Yea i dont belive it does. I heard with the lastest Geforce 6200, they did something with the bus, to make it different then the normal PCI bus, which is weird.

Um, celebrity or not, everyone dont have the lastest hardware/software. I am not someone who goes out and buys the lastest stuff, i will wait a while. Like xbox 360 i want it, but i am in no rush to buy it.

LOL but see thats the thing. Me and my wife have XP , we only use it for business. Now in my entertaiment/gaming room i am using windows98se for internet and gaming. I had this computer for years and years, and i have over 400 pc games, and if i never had any trouble with this OS and if i can play all of my older games and some new games on my computer and if i feel comfortable with it, why should i upgrade to the newest stuff?
The bottom line, i am happy with this OS and if i can play all of the games that i own thus far i am happy. But as i said, i am buying a new computer, a super XP computer, its only for those newer pc games. So no worries.

yea i did, i'm waiting for a second reply on the bus issue. But i think with the help of everyone here and other forums, it seems like the lastest 6200 card , the bus they change for some odd reason. So the 5500 256MB card which i have is the last card for my OS that has normal PCI SLOTS.
So the only thing which i have to upgrade is the HD to 80GB and INTEL4. And i am done upgrading this computer
