it varies on what map...i can hold 250...but when look around with the mouse it drops to as low as 180...and this in cod2 is not good...its best to have a steady 125 or 250...and I want 250 lol...I mean thats why i spent money on this pc yah know hehe
the part that drives me crazy is....i drop to 800x600...and i still cant get 250 lol....I used to get over 350 fps with that low of res...

heh, that's onboard sound chip... you haven't disable it in the computers BIOS. Since you use X-Fi you really don't need it so I recommend you to goto your PC's BIOS and disable onboard sound

If you've got an 680I MOBO that device will be you're external sata drive interface.
You need to install the sata link 3rd party driver - on you're cd that shipped with the mobo or from your're manuafacturers website (recommended=latest).
Onboard Audio wouldn't show up as A "pci" device i don't think.
Once installed - reboot and the exclaimation mark will go.
p.s this is what you need
"Silicon Image 3132 Serial ATA Driver V1.0.15.0 for Windows 2000/XP/2003.(WHQL)"

you do know that crap processor could your entire problem...... you are running a stock e6400, a budget CPU on a high end board with a very high end graphics card........ does that make sense?
even the powerful Core 2 Duos bottleneck an 8800GTX, you AT LEAST need an e6600 OCed to 3.0+GHz to get the max FPS you are wanting
but i would highly recommend a Core 2 Quad processor OCed to 3.0GHz to feed your need completely.....
you say you spent big money on the 8800GTX..... SPEND MORE TO GET THE MOST OUT OF IT! a computer is liike a chain, buy good components but skimp on one place, you kill your performance......

Uh, I'm confused...you're upset because you want 250fps in Call of Duty 2?
Two 8800GTX CoD2 benches I found don't even have close to that.

Let me be blunt.
You will never ever get a 250FPS average in COD2 with any 8800 series card (not even if you had Quad SLI). It isn't possible with the current hardware. Also, why 250 anyway? All you need is a constant 60-80FPS during the most intense action let's say 120 if you used Vsync. That's a long long way from 250.

listen
I am sure you know a shit load more than I do about hardware
but nothing when it comes to cod2 =]
250 is very possible...
infact you dont need an 8800 card to do it.

Oh, you must be talking about using DX7 mode in CoD2. You could do it that way but it would make no sense to use DX7 with an 8800GTX. Either way, 250FPS will look exactly the same as 120FPS
