Do you mean a chipset driver?
If that's what you mean, the whole process should be relatively easy.
First, download the new driver package you desire, then download DriverCleaner (Pro, Platinum, or .NET, doesn't matter, but Pro is free though unsupported and outdated).
Uninstall your current chipset and video drivers (since video drivers kind of rely on AGP/PCI-e drivers), then reboot into safe mode. Run DriverCleaner and clean out all of your old drivers.
Reboot into normal mode and install your new chipset drivers and whatever video drivers you want on top of that.
