geforce 7950 gx2 display driver problems!
hey guys im new here and im looking for help.i got an xps 700 with the 7950 gx2 and the only driver i can use is the one on the resource cd (89.17 i believe) the new ones only limit me to one gpu and i only run at 60 fps max on cs 1.6 (which is horrible) when i go back to the older one i run at 100 fps but drop alot in smoke grenades, which never happened when i first got my computer. i havent update the bios cause i dont know wat i am doing. if neone has ne suggestions please pm me or email me at danimlay@inbox.com or danimlay@hotmail.com thats alot im in great need of help thanks d-rad

Are you sure you don't have V-Sync enabled at a Refresh rate of 60Hz? That would limit your FPS to 60...

with v-sync enabled, your max FPS in any game will be that of the refresh rate you have your monitor set at. It appears that you might have v-sync enabled.

In CS 1.6, you can set V-Sync on or off in the video options, IIRC.

you should still be able to do it through the nvidia control panel. force the settings you desire there.

No problem. Glad you got it all worked out.
However, you should know that V-Sync is useful for alleviating horizontal tearing. FPS isn't everything in a game.

huh? well that sucks then cause with the setup i have i shouldnt have to ever turn nething off i wonder wat the deal is then i mean i have 100 fps but v sync is off i dont know i am going to upgrade to vista  hope everything works with drivers i just want to do a clean reformat i would feel alot better about my system u know?

v-sync doesn't have anything to do w/drivers and vista.

fwiw i have same card & have tried a lot of drivers. the stock nv 9371 seem to be the best all around driver for this card. jmo.
& fobis is rt about turning vsync of. & 60fps is more than enough for any game unless you r into perf #'s more than iq.
