Found a GFX Card lying around

I was just looking for some cereal the other day, and i stumbeled accross an old gfx card. Its a GeForce FX 5200. but one of the 2 screw looking things that holds the heatsink down is broken. Anyway, i was just wondering how this card would compare to my ATI radeon xpress 200?

the fx 5 series from nvidia was not that good so id say 2:1....

and remeber a fx5500 = the performance of a 6200 and 5700 = 6600gt(if not better....the 6600gt) and so it goes on.......the x200 will more or less = the radeon 9550 and the radeon 9 series was more stable the the nvidia 5 series.....(im a nvida fun all the way)

id say yes......the 5200 is out dated anyway.....and the x200 is onboard....right?

if so then the more ram you have the better it will perform.....

i have n mx geforce 2 card in my pc and my friend had a onboard geforce 2 and he played nfs underground with better graphics then mine...

id say the 5200...

what mx is it?

i knw its intergrated but i need to know what range it falls in.....

remember a series has 3 ranges: bottem range(5200, 6200,7300) mid range(5500 ,6600, 7600) top range(5700, 6800, 7900)......and in each of those ranges it has another 2-3 ranges (5200, 5200 ultra)(6600, 6600 le, 6600 gt) ect.

so you see thats why i said x200 more or less = fx5500

the card of one series = the card of the previous series that one range down from what the card is(ex. 6600gt = fx5700)
understand?

It doesn't say. Both device manager and display both say 'NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU'

System Specs

Fx5200 is "lowest of the low" in power, but with full DX9 support (Pixel shader hardware, Vertex shader software). Probably too slow to do anything worthwhile with DX9 support.

A Geforce 4 MX probably blows it away in DX7 performance, but lacks DX8 and DX9 hardware capability.

Off topic I know but that one sentence practically defines 'geek'!

For a moment I thought that you had found a gfx card IN a cereal box...

The FX5200 wasn't a great card but don't know a great deal about nVidia cards

Also the 5200 has T&L support which is a must in some games. I wouldn't say an MX would be better, but a GF4 Ti4200 will.

Game-wise it can play Up to the point of Doom 3 in the lowest of the low resolutions with OC and a good CPU.
