I agree

I do not know about DX10 support but ATI and Nvidia next generation sollutions are almost finalized.
G80 and R600 are almost ready from what i heard

Obviously only a Fan-rich boy and someone that loves to throw his money around would update from 7900 or X1900 sollutions to 7950 without second thought...

Many a$$es in Nvnews.net as i noticed lately have already done that and they are so proud as they say
Left their just new 7900GTX cards for buying 7950 sollution
Man i really love the members of that site they have so much money to throw around with whatever new sollution Nvidia or ATI announce...worth it or not

Nvrichpeoplethrowingtheirmoneyaround.net or Nvnews.net

Can a 7950 graphic card install on msi 945P platinum ? i noticed that the capacitor on the motherboard may block the graphic card

since what you say is true about dx10.. its stupid in my opinion to buy a new card these days .. the jump from 9800 to all the X1XXX is stupid cause with in a year you card gets to be old news.. why not wait a while and buy something you know can hold a little longer.

my 9800XT is able to run any game I play.. not at 1600X1200 with AA and AAF and BLa BLa... but for now its enough..

it lasted a little over 2 years... and I wont feal my mony is going to waste when I buy the new Dx10 card when it comes out.

I'll have to disagree. Obviously, if you have a 7900GTX, ditching it for a 7950GX2 is throwing six hundred bucks away, but if you've got a 2+ years old card, then I don't see why would it be stupid to get a 7950 if you can afford it.

I mean, this is computer hardware, and it's gonna keep evolving. You could wait until DX10 is out, but then new techologies will be announced. If you buy a graphics card now, chances are it's gonna be out of date just as quickly as if you buy it in 3 months.

That said, I'd wish I could afford a 7950GX2. :/

question about SLI and this card

do you have to set the driver profiles for a game everytime you play it or could you just use global driver settings all the time and get the same perfomance and image quality?
the thought of having to go to the driver's panel everytime I play a game to set the game profile keeps me away from setting up SLI or this card.
