"Coolbits" is just a .reg file which enables certain registry settings so that the overclocking panel shows up in the nVidia Control Panel.
You can probably find it at Guru3D.

Just a note: with the new 91.28 Nvidia drivers the coolbits file will not add an overclock tab due to the nature of the new control panel. However, if you switch to using the old style panel you will have the overclock tab as usual.

Thats not true, I use only a couple of settings in coolbits, one of wich is overclock and it does indeed work fine.
The reg settings are as follows:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]
"CoolBits"=dword:3
"NvCplEnableActiveClocking"=dword:1
This shows the overclock in the new cp as well as the old.
Just Fyi, I am useing the 91.28 on a 7800gs OC agp

I stand corrected then.
I can't seem to get it to work on any of my laptops though. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try it on a machine a work.

Hmmm, I'm using the new control panel and coolbits works just fine. After opening the cp, click on 3D Settings and it should be under 'Performance' as 'Change Overclocking Configuration'

Nope. None of the lappies work. The only time I get the Performance listing is when I switch back to the old control panel. Infact, I just noticed that I don't even have the overclock function in the old CP either. Coolbits seems to be giving me everything in the old CP except overclock, and nothing in the new panel.
I should point out that I had those options in my registry and in my custom coolbits2.reg file that easyrider posted, which is why I'm at a loss on explaining this. It has been suggested by a few others that the 6600 Go isn't supported with this new CP yet for some reason, which could explain why the overclock function isn't showing up. However, this is also not showing up on my 2 Dell Precision M60s which use the Quadro FX Go700. It could be the same issue, but who knows.
In any case, for me, it's not a problem. As long as I get the rest of the Performance Tab I'm happy as overclocking any of my lappies isn't a viable option anyways since they aren't for gaming (well.. the Toshiba is kind of).

I'm not really sure on laptops, I haven't even tried it on mine, I'm still on the like 84.xx series with a modified inf for my laptop.
On my desktop hoever I am useing the newest beta versioin. It may be a different coolbits for the laptops, as compared to desktops, not sure, and yes you could be correct, some cards may not be supported, although, I couldn't see why really, because from looking at the inf file the 6800's are listed, odd, very odd indeed. I would say it's a laptop thing perhaps.
I just recently switched back to the old cp anyways, the new one is a tad bit glitchy, as is for most. I found everything works in the old cp so I'm keeping it.
BTW, just as a side note, this cp isn't really new persay, it's just new to desktops, my laptop has had the new cp since I put on the 84.xx set, that was a few months ago, 3-4 I think, so it's been there just wasn't implemented in the desktop set I guess, until now.

i just modify the registry to get coolbits, and use 3 as the value. dont download the stupid program that makes it, its easier just to add it yourself, like easyrider explains. btw, worked fine on my m5500 when i had the nVidia 6600.
