ATI user moving over to the other side
I've been using ATI products now for about 5 years in a row. 9700->X800XT->X1600XT and will now move over to the "other side"...nVidia.
Just ordered an XFX 7900GTX and will hopefully get better FPS and graphics in Oblivion than with my X1600XT card.

Nice! It's a really cool card, you should definitely see some improvement over your X1600XT

I just went from AthlonXP 2700+ and Radeon 9800 to Athlon64 3500+ and 7900GTX-512. Quite an upgrade, and while looking back at order history I had managed with the same Socket-A motherboard for almost three years. Then again it's not the first time I've held off upgrades in favor of taking major steps that really lets you feel the difference. Now I get to enjoy Oblivion...
Back on topic. I like the nVidia drivers quite well. They make up for most of the fact that there doesn't seem to be a separate tweaker-utility as brilliant as ATI Tray Tools for nVidia cards, so I'll get used to its ups and downs. Without wishing to strike an argument I must mention that it has been a noticeable improvement moving from ATI to nVidia as far as driver setting management goes. When it comes to driver stability and such I'll have to get more time with it to say anything. I did have an odd issue with Photoshop CS2 of all things running very slowly until I tried the 84.43 driver.

I was with ATI all the way (9200 9600 X1300 and X1600). Then i went with my new XFX 7900GT and i must say that Nvidia has done a great job on there cards and drivers.

(To bad you'll miss out of HDR + AA in oblivion or other game for that matter.)
well no wonder... you downgraded to a X1600XT from the X800XT. What led you
to buy a X1600XT anyways? you went from "high end" to a newer but slower
"main steam" card. Of couse the 7900GTX is a upgrade thus better perfomance,
(so would a X18/X1900 card for that matter. )

I bought a PCI-express motherboard and a new PSU and didn't have enough money to buy a high-end GFX card.

That's why I didn't get an x1900 - better price-performance-ratio from Nvidia at this point.. No step up program from ATI like EVGA that I am aware of either (I am #24 in the queue for a 7900GTX 512 :-) )

I think that the latest card that the 66.93 set supported was the 6800Ultra, and maybe the 7800GTX, but I doubt it.
