An issue that I have been having a lot of with Oblivion is crashing to desktop. This lead me to try updating my graphics card drivers. For almost two years now, every time I try to update my graphics card, my games go all screwy. Objects get stretched and it makes it impossible to see at times, so I have always reverted back the the old drivers and things worked okay. This was fine until Oblivion can along. The old drivers aren't cutting it (I hope that's the issue, anyways..).

I just updated to the newest nVidia driver available and the same thing happened yet again. I have also tried various other nVidia drivers that are newer than the one I have, as well as a DH zer0point. Please take a second to view the attached pictures, every driver update causes the same results. The one I use is very old now, 61.77, but at least it allows me to play.

Now, I know this might look like a heat issue, but I don't think it is. I have GIANT fan camped right next to my exposed computer's organs. It's cold in there and the game looks just fine with the old drivers. The same thing happens in both EQII and Oblivion. I'd add a comparison screen shot from Oblivion, but I haven't tweaked the .ini to allow it yet. The stretching of objects, mostly in the sky are indentical with both games.

So I tried looking online for fixes over the weekend and found none. I broke down and tried the trouble shooting promts from windowsXP. It's next suggestion after making sure the drivers were up dated was to make sure my BIOS is up to date, as it might not be able to handle all of the functions with a newer video card. Makes sense I guess, as far as I can recall they have never been updated. I'm not sure if that's where I should go next, or not.

This is where I'm stuck. I'm not a computer guy. I can assemble one, I know where to look to find system info, but beyond that I really have no idea what I'm doing. I guess I'm asking two things:

1. Can you think of anything else I can try with the drivers to get my video card to function properly?

2. Should I try updating my BIOS, and if so, can I get sent in the right direction on how to do that?

As far as the BIOS goes.. I don't know where to go, what to download, or if it's as easy as updating drivers for a vidoe card. I'm not sure I want to poke around there without some help either. Every online search I have tried seems to bring me to large companies looking to be hired for large scale office projects and offer no support/files to update with. I can not find an offical web site for Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS.

I'll also include a print out of my DirectX Diagnostic because every thread I saw while searching to problems like mine asked for the person to post it.
