Omega drivers

Hi, I was just checking out the omega drivers for the first time and the quality is better would it affect my frame performance at all, or would my card still have the same performance with better quality?
Thanks

Which card do you have?
If it's a GeForce FX card or older, the Omega 66.93 would definitely give you better performance than some newer drivers would, but, one thing to note would be that those drivers don't have all the newer game fixes.
If it's a GeForce 6 or newer, than the newer drivers are for you.

I have a geforce fx 5200 so I'll try the omega drivers and hopefully that will fix the crashing I have sometimes in games. I am using windows xp service pack 1 because one of the sp2 updates made me crash like every 15 minutes and I had to reinstall to fix it. One of the error messages was the nvidia display driver, so who knows :-p. Oh yeah you say they don't have all the newer game fixes.. What about half life 2, cause episode one is coming out soon and I plan to play that :-p. Thanks for your help

I think that the 66.93 set came out after HL2, but I'm not too sure, actually.
As for Episode One, I would say try playing it with the Omega 66.93 or whatever set you will be using and see if it works alright. If it's fine, leave it as it is. If something's wrong, try a different newer driver set.

Well I installed the performance one and my fps was impacted greatly for some reason.. I had the same settings as before and I noticed a 40-50 frame loss. So I really don't know how the explain that =/. And I took screen shots just to see the quality, and even with the performance setting on the omega drivers they are more detailed than the nvidia ones. Thanks for your guys help.

It shouldn't have been lowered by THAT much.
You did use DriverCleaner Pro between the driver installations, right?
