7900 GT Temp?

Ok so i had to get rid of my shuttle case due to it heating the up the CPU to 60 - 62C and for the 930 p4 that is too close to thermal limit. So i got a BioStar IDEQ 450. The CPU is now ever peaking at 32C but now the Video card is heating up.

On the Shuttle the Video card rand at 42C idle and 46C under load. In the new case it is running 60 C idel and 68C under load..... any one know if this is really too high or still within limits?

I am about to give up on the SFF after this experince i loved my last shuttle but these are not as good.

Idle temps are rather high, underload it's about right. Which drivers you using? Can always try reinstalling them jus to be sure it isnt some bug or something.

nah tried 2 different drivers... and i open the case it is definately warm inside.

I am thinking of going for a mid atx or micro atx tower instead... any idea with quiet and good cooling?

What case you choose makes a big difference to noise too. There's so many cases to choose from >.< But generally all coolmasters and antecs are cool and quiet (from experience).

For wifes i have a p5p800 motherboard so need a ATX case (preferable mini tower or something similar)

just get a new cooler for your 7800GT, try the new zalman 900 heatpipe cooler. It's quiet and very efficient. should drop your temps a bit...

or you could just wc it. I have a polarflo TT gpu block on my 7900GT and it idles around 31... and loads at 38-40 just took a screenshot for ya

*ignore the voltage and fan readings... I still have to get them properly configured, but the temps are correct.

It is really funny my CPU with the Thermaltake cooler actaully will run cooler then my case! So case will be like 37 C and the Cpu will be running 34 on idle. The video card is running 42 C idel and about 50C max if i REALLY stress it System is working incredible
