Toshiba Geforce 4 420 Go resolution issue
Hi, I wanted to play the game the Movies on the laptop. Specs not a problem (Satelite Pro 6100 Geforce 4 420 go, 512 mb ram, p4 1.7m processor).
Won't work with drivers that Toshiba have on their site as they are too old. Standard Nvidia.com xp drivers say they don't have my laptop vga listed. So I downloaded the latest Omega set (after I tried other modded detonater drivers). The drivers work, the game works, but major lcd panel issue, the max res allowed is 969 x 768. Weird, also you get 3/4 of an inch of black at the right hand side of the display. With the original Toshiba Nvidia drivers 2727 you get 1024 x 768. Has any one else come across this issue, if they have, advice please. |

me too
2 hours ago everything was fine. I've just done format C: and installed Win XP SP2... same result as above... and when I'm trying to install nVidia driver from official site it is terminating and showing a message that my graphic card is not recognized.

sorted
sorted
the best way to sort it out is to smoke something illegal and then launch toshiba tools & utilities CD-ROM and then you need to install Display Driver. Then you will have two resolutions to pick from: 800x600 and 1024x768. Very old driver but at least it is working

omega drivers
I have run into the same kind of problem with my Toshiba Satellite pro 6100.
Apparently the Omega Forceware v1.6693 (nVidia forceware 66.93) drivers are the best ones for the Geforce4 go 420 chip. heres the link below. http://www.omegadrivers.net/nvidia/win2k_xp.php haven't tried them yet but will do soon and i'll let you know how they go. I can't understand why nVidia won't provide driver support for the Geforce Go chips, they usually have an extensive database of drivers. Oh well, might have to try an ATI express chip next time |

Re: Toshiba Geforce 4 420 Go resolution issue
I had the same problem, after installing nVidia drivers on Toshiba Satellite 1415-S105, with GeForce4 Go 420. Max screen resolution was 969x768, and I couldn't do anything to get rid of the vertical black line on the right side of screen. Than I found a site with original Toshiba drivers for all models they ever made (even those discontinued)
Here's a working video driver for GeForce4 Go 420 -> http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/cont...s/s141vidx.exe And here you can choose your (ancient) model if needed -> Toshiba Support - Model Selector You're welcome
