Its been a busy two weeks on Driverheaven since the start of the year, since breaking all records for hits in December peaking at around 1 million hits a day! our bandwidth usage last month was a collosal 380 gigabytes. We have also now in the region of 18,000 registered forum members so to aid our expanding community we have made some changes recently which some of you may as yet be unaware of.
I have made some minor changes to accounts such as increasing the storage capacity of your message folders. This has been altered from 30 messages to the current maximum of 40. There are further details regarding this in the
Feedback section here.
We now have a medal award system on the forum for non-staff, those of who have donated to the site a
silver donation medal has been added to your account which is clearly visible when you post. if ive forgotten your donation medal please post the
details here. Donators incidentally dont have to wait 500 posts to receive their avatar
and can also ask for larger avatars 80x80 pxs.
We also now have a
gold achievement award which is reserved for the Driverheaven members who have given a tremendous amount to the community in some way, perhaps aiding new members or giving some special skills to the board. Earning one of these forum medals is the greatest accolade bestowed upon one of our members.
This leads me nicely onto the last point, I have seen not very many of you are using the free
signature facility which is available to ALL members regardless of post count. We have some talented designers on the site, one of which is offering his signature services for free in
this thread on the forum. so if you have problems designing graphics I would strongly advise a little click on that link to ask for help. Signatures certainly liven up the board and add a little
personality to your account. The only restrictions for signatures are the sizing, please keep them to a maximum of 100 pixels deep x 400 pixels wide. This is to ensure forum legability. We dont want the signatures
taking over the high standard of posting we have on the board.
The administration staff ensure that Driverheaven has the friendlest technology forum on the internet, and are always available via board PM or email to solve any problems you may have.
Happy posting !
