Through the years, power requirements for desktop PC systems have greatly evolved. Gone are the days where users will stick to the generic power supplies that were included in casings. Since the past two years, major PC casing manufacturers have stopped bundling power supplies with their casings believing that users will go for a better power supply with their system. The increase in power demand on desktop PC systems can be caused by various hardwares and peripherals installed inside a PC. Most average desktop users are known to have at least 2 to 3 individual hard drives installed inside a typical desktop system. Although there are a number of users with up to 5 hard drives and above, hard drives are the most power demanding component. Most of us may think that CPUs demand most of the power especially with dual or multiple core processors. Nevertheless, there is another type of hardware that surpasses them all when it comes to power requirements.
