I'm using a slightly older version of this program and I love it. Definitly will give this one a try when I get home.

Awesome program I must admit. Windows defrag leaves 35% fragmented stuff on your hd, I recommend trying free version of this defragment-software.

it really is great. I've tried diskeeper (and I still get tons of spam from the bastards), it was OK. I use this one exclusivly now, it is a good program, very easy to use. This version has some nice new features. Optomization for notebooks, brand new interface (easier and sleeker), and it is now easier to do a boot time defrag. i highly recommend it.

O&O makes the best defrager I've used. They also make a powerful data recovery tool too. A friend of mine in data forensics turned me on to them a while back adn I've been heappy ever since. Thanks for the heads up on the new release.

Both works, I have used Perfect Disk by myself as well. If you like it, there's no need to change your program, but I like the interface of this to be much better, and O&O Defrag has some powerful features(for example automatic defrags, bootup defrags etc.).
I recommend to try this if you are interested There are no cons in trying..

Well I gave this O&O Defrag a shot last night and I'm not too happy with the application.
It works VERY well on my smaller 4-80GB HDD's. However when I attempted to use it on my 160-260GB HDD's it wouldn't even run. My CPU usage would hit 100%, thanks to O&O Defrag sucking up the CPU cycles, and the defrag completion percentage would not advance. Even after being left to do it's thing for 3 hours.
The default windows defrag program did not have an issue with any of my HDD's. I will not be using O&O Defrag again.
Note: All of my HDD's are individual pieces of hardware with only one partition on each.

The 6.5 I was using seems to be doing the core of the work just as well as this new version, though some interface updates are nice. Some little things makes me simply feel better about O&O Defrag.

17% defragmentation with O % O
I'm trying O&O Defrag v6 for their 30 day trial and it leaves 17% fragmentation and 2 fragmented files. What am I doing wrong?

have you tried a boot time defrag, i bet that would work. It sounds like maybe your MFT or Page is fragmented. Download O&O v 8, run a boot time defrag and post back.
