I'll try again tomorrow on a freshboot. I ran this right after some partition magicing and a total 18 hours uptime

Maybe we can dip below 200 tomorrow with a more agressive clock speed too...this was on my "warm weather" OC....and it's cold in my new apartment I would try and catch Z, but that's useless

Oh, specs, I forgot:

A few tweaks here and there, you should be able to crack it.

Well, a fresh reboot just dropped me to 213.9...without runnign SeeSaw, so with some more OCing and cleaning out my taskmanager and such, I MIGHT make it under 200....MAYBE

ive run this a few times now on 7 and on CS and I find that apart from stained glass where there is a big improvement there is little improvement or even an increase e.g. smart blur from 35.7 to 72.7!!! I'll post a more detailed comparison when I get around to it but I'm programming some nice Numerical Methods in Fortran at the moment .. coursewrok YAY

Also, another quick coment, I'm finding that on some of the tasks it takes quite a while (eg 10 secs) to start (well for the blue progress bar at the bottom to start counting up), and this is definitely increasing the time to complete. is this normal and what is it doing, cacheing something in the RAM or something?

does that for me 2, and yes, I think it is caching the current image into RAM

This is why I said it will be also impossible to compare the time for this bench between versions of photoshop, specific filters tend to run faster on CS and yes a few even run a little slower. generally though CS is faster.
As for the blue progress bar, this is not specific to the bench, its just how photoshop handles the filter -it has started even before the bar appears, you will find in Version 7, the progress bar pops up immediately but will run slower once it does so.

I must stress that this test DOES NOT use 64-bit instructions since photoshop works with wowexec 32 bit code. Sorry folks, will have to wait for a new version of PS for 64 bit computing

My results:

XP2000+ TB-b @2100mhz (210x10) hynix d443 11-4-4-3 (trash memory)

1: Texturiser Test (1)
7.2
2: CYMK Colour Conversion
7.3
3: RGB Colour Conversion
9.3
4: Dust and Scratches
6.8
5: Watercolour
41.8
6: Texturiser Test (2)
7.9
7: Stained Glass
13.4
8: Lighting Effects
9.5
9: Mosiac Tiles
27.5
10: Extrude
77.3
11: Smart Blur
62.0
12. Underpainting
52.2

TOTAL:
322.2 s

I am currently using my friends memory and have watter cooling out for service so best memory can do is 210 with 3-4-4 timings. I will re-bench as soon as I get my V-Datas back (they do 230) and watter cooling back in (currently raptor cool) Then I will bench at 230x10.5
