Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld game machine will debut in North America next month, the company announced Thursday. The device, bundled with a 32MB Memory Stick Duo, headphones with remote control, a battery pack and an AC adaptor, will begin shipping on March 24. It will sell for $249, Sony said.
The bundle will also contain a universal media disc (UMD) with non-interactive game demonstrations. The first 1 million packs shipped will include a UMD video release of the feature film Spider-Man 2, it said.
There has been intense speculation in the market about the device, as some retailers recently
began taking orders despite Sony not divulging release details.
