Following the sad loss of one of DriverHeaven's most beloved staff members -
Joe "Roadee" Dawson - the "Fastest Rig Competition" was forced to temporarily close for several weeks. The competition was officially reopened in mid September and redubbed "Roadee's Fastest Rig Competition" in honor of Joe.
For those of you who haven't entered before, you should check it out. It is a lot of fun and stirs up a bit of friendly competition between members. The competition is open to everyone, staff included. It basically works like this, benchmark your computer with
3DMark2005 (Build 110),
3DMark2003 (Build 350) and
PCMark2004 (Build 120). Add all three scores together and divide by three for a final score and submit it in this thread
only your score is higher than the current highest score for the specific class you are entering for. After that you will be awarded an oversized avatar for that specific class for no less than one week.
(Valid Futuremark links MUST be included to enter.)
Futuremark, to many, is the industry standard for benchmarking and their products are free to download and they also are pretty secure and fraud free. For this competition we want to see your 3DMark2003, 3DMark2005 and PCMark2004 compare links (only benchmark scores achieved with WHQL approved and/or
Omega drivers will be accepted, to eliminate the possibility of inaccurate benchmarks. "Futuremark approved" drivers are
not necessary, ATi Hotfix/non-WHQL drivers
are acceptable - other beta drivers are
not - please indicate if a Hotfix is being used.). In the event of a version update to any of the benchmarks, scores must be updated to maintain your trophy.

Scoring process:
3DMark2005 3DMarks plus 3DMark2003 3DMarks plus PCmark2004 PCMarks divided by three equals final score/total.
Example: 1234 + 5678 + 9100 / 3 = 5337.33
Total must be higher than current trophy holder's.

There are three class divisions, they are as follows:
Super Modified: This class is for computers on the extreme edge of overclocking. It includes ALL sponsored computers, volt mods, water-cooling, peltier, Prometia, Vaporchill, and anything else on the extreme edge of enthusiast overclocking. All central processor and graphics processor types are permitted.
Pro Stock: All Athlon 64 CPU types/cores and Intel P4 CPUs 3.2 GHz or equaliviant and above are allowed. Air cooling only, no extensive mods, no volt mods, or extreme cooling solutions allowed.
Stock: All AMD Athlon XP CPU types/cores and Intel P4 up to 3.2Ghz or equaliviant and below are allowed. Air cooling only, no volt mods, and no extensive mods. Changing the Northbridge chipset cooling solution is allowed as long as it is with a passive or fan solution that is mounted in the stock location, and is stock appearing - no water cooling, etc.

Rules:
You may enter at any time, however; your avatar won't be rewarded unless the previous possessor has had the avatar for at least one week. If the current possessor of the avatar has had the avatar for this period of time, your avatar will be rewarded immediately. Otherwise it will be rewarded at the end of one week’s time of when it was first rewarded to the person before you.
The winner of each title will be given a MASSIVELY oversized avatar in respect of their in accordance to their title class. But be aware the avatars will be moving like a
trophy between the members who break each other's scores. Just to make sure that your hard work does not go without notice, each person that successfully challenges a person's score will retain the avatar for at least one week. In doing this it will keep a single class from switching hands several times in a short period of time.
This competition is open to everyone, staff included, and all we need to see are your three compare links from the above three programs. (All compare links MUST remain active to maintain your trophy.) DriverHeaven reserves the right to refuse any entry at anytime as we see fit. Only one avatar can be retained by any given person or sponsored team at a single time.
You may continuously update your scores at your leisure. To do so simply edit your original post and then send me a PM with the updated scores and links. Please note that updating you score will
not extend the time which you can retain a trophy. Updating your scores is
only to keep challengers at bay.
