Wireless network user? Not at the Pentagon.
The Pentagon has enacted an extended ban on new wireless networks due to worries that such systems are vulnerable to intrusion. The Pentagon has said that it's not currently comfortable that it can reduce those risks to a level it can live with. The Department of Defense last month issued a new wireless policy that prohibits connectivity of wireless devices to a classified network or computer.
With the Department of Defense openly stating that wireless networks are insecure, it remains to be seen what effect, if any, this will have on the deployment of wireless network technologies in the business sector.
