Buffalo FireStix: Red Hot Name for a New High-End Memory

Buffalo Technology has become a well known manufacturer of memory, wired and wireless network products, and storage solutions. You will find a full range of Buffalo memory products available from many on-line resellers, including regular DIMMs, SO-DIMMs, and Registered memory for servers, desktop computers, and notebooks. However, Buffalo is not a first name that comes to mind when Enthusiasts are looking for high-performance memory. Buffalo is out to change that with the introduction of their new FireStix memory.

Two new FireStix memory products were just introduced - FireStix FSX500DV and FireStix FSX433DV - at DDR500 (PC4000) and DDR433 (PC3500). FireStix is a great name for memory that is supposed to be "hot", and Buffalo has added to the image with flame-red heatspreaders that certainly stand out in any group of memory. However, as you expect at AnandTech, we were most interested to see if FireStix live up to their name with stand-out performance to match the stand-out looks.

Hmm, some images display in IE6 but won't in FF-

On this page, http://anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=2130&p=6

this image- http://images.anandtech.com/graphs/b...10646/2737.png

wont display in firefox but will in IE- I've blocked some ads in FF on that page, but not those images, I wonder why it won't display? Actually all of those graphs will not display- but I haven't blocked them, I checked... Can someone else w/ FF look and tell me if they display.. All other images on all other sites display perfectly.. I wonder if he has a script going that blocks those images if it detects you are blocking ads? hmmm....

Why on earth are they using PNGs for images, sighs.

As I said in another forum section, its a terrible shame all these very well coded browsers dont display pages the way the designers intended them to look. I guess until every website is totally compliant this will be the case, which is still generally why I use IE.

Oh so it's a web page coding thing.... I thought I accidentally blocked it, but I looked and I didn't.. Oh well.

edit- I e-mailed the author and made him aware of the problem, maybe they will fix it.
