what does this update do??? i just installed a lite on cd r/w 52x on my friends pc that im building for him... what does this update change? or is it for special users or something?

If you have a lite-on ldw-451s or 851s you upgrade to a 832S (without 8x -R support), the 832s is able to burn the new DL disc's, just go here http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....6&page=1&pp=25 and

IT WORKS ! THATS WHAT I DID JUST REMEMBER TO REBOOT AFTER FLASHING!

The 52/32/52 could be either the SOHR-5238S or the LTR 52327S (not updated as recently)
The current updates for both of those have Liteon's favourite description, a "match more media" with no indication of which media they now match, that they didn't before.

The heyday of hack-upping Liteon CD writers, seems to be fading in favour of getting the m,ost out of a DVD writer - including some media strategy fixes that produce results far better than the official firmware ... come on Liteon, your writers could produce much better results than they do, if you actually made write strategies that WORKED on the media they were applied to.
