i actually really like ads IN-GAME or real products, such as the sony ericson in splinter cell or brands advertised in tony hawk and nba live.

but i hate companies that DO NOT ALLOW to skip their company logos god and all the copyright info.

if it works and is 'in-fitting' with the games then fine. If it comes across as blatant advertising and an excuse to brainwash people into buying their products then they can get stuffed.

... I think advertising has already sufficiently perforated all mediums. There is not need to advertise "in game".

should be another option like "don't care" long as it doesn't wrap around it

If it reduces the cost of the game for us, the customer, then I'm all for it but if it's just a way for them to pocket more money at our expsence then I'm against it.

If you're talking about the logos/animations for the developer/publisher when the game starts,
I'm fine with those, as long as I can click or Esc out of em. I kinda like some of them too.

In-game, I'm OK with ads in sports games, where there normally are ads on TV (eg. hockey rink walls, logos on racecars)
But if there are ads/logos anywhere else, like in game menus or elsewhere, that pisses me off!
I don't think there should be ads in non-sports games, in-game.

Product placement, fine - like in a street racing game, there are adverts on the billboards, for other games, and for the cars.

Ad-ware type irrelvant garbage thouigh, NO WAY - not unless they're giving it away.

I thought it was cool to see product placement in NFSu like the Mcdonald's billboards and whatnot. It should eventually get more money into the video game industry in general, and lower the cost of games- so I'm all for it..

I think companies would want to use games for advertising. Like in Max Payn, for example, Coke or 4 Pepsi could have paid the game companies to put real "Coke" or "Pepsi" brand coke machines in the game, or but brand name products all over the place in the game.
They could either use the money to save the game buyer money in the price of the game, or make the game better.

Big banner ads in control menus or full page ads you can't click out of at the beginning of the game just piss me off and remind me not to buy that product- they need to be smart about it.
