Windows XP Service Pack 1 build # 1102

I know i'm a bit late but it's Beta service pack time again!

This time the service pack guys at MS have broken the eleven hundred mark. 1102, as of the time of this writing, is today's current build; 8-20-2002.

WinXP SP1 1102 comes in at 128 MB (135,165,440 bytes)

Once again, no noticeable changes have been made to the performance of our test machines over previous builds. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as we've found that the new life that SP1 breathes into XP is well worth all the builds being turned out.

As a final nears, you may want to drop by and pick up a build to try out as a test before its goes gold. Stop by the channel and we'll throw a copy your way if you can't wait it reaches DH!

As there's no point in having two posts announcing 1102, I removed the other.

Slight snag on my part - my cable's down and I'm using my dialup backup. Those of you looking for SP1 1102, look over on the Winbeta IRC server. Once my line comes back up I'll be hosting on the DH IRC server, and we've got a few other guys who will be joining the effort as soon as they get the file. Those of you who wish to serve via FTP or HTTP, post your links in this thread as you get the SP downloaded.

Meanwhile, Winbeta's details:

irc.winbeta.org 6667

You'll need to be in #winbeta, AND in #winbeta-ads.

Don't have mirc? Get it from

Don't know how to download XDCC packets? Ask someone in #Winbeta - but be polite, don't flood them, and don't be obnoxious about it.

And for those who want/need the modded uxtheme.dll, it's already posted.

Easyer said than done mate, Ive just spent over an hour trying to download on winbeta ads using dcc, any extra tips much appricated

Tip #1: Join #winbeta-ads. Look for the servers (they're the + guys).

Send this command to each one, one at a time:

/ctcp (name) XDCC LIST

After they send the list to you, hit control-F, and search for 1102 - it will have a number beside it.

then you'd simply do:

/ctcp (name) XDCC SEND #__ (whatever the number of the SP download was)

Don't mistake the NFO for the actual pack - watch those file sizes.

Tip #2: Patience, grasshopper.

Its a nightmare on there for a newbe, (no disrespect to any mirc users) gota learn though but much easier to wait for some good links

I serve on #betas (irc.betas-network.net) and we use a modified version of the .get system.

Makes life much easier - you install the betas.get client and then just search the channel - no need to wait for dcc ads etc

This won't work from Java chat - you must be in an IRC client that supports DCC file transfers.
