WOW and aren't we going to get shitty performance?!
Marc Tardif: Halo is as technically demanding as ever, but the graphics engine relating to rendering of the pixel-shading effects has had a dramatic overhaul. The new "Fast Shaders Engine" (as we call it here) has been measured at providing as much as a 60% performance increase on some configurations. Any configuration that supports advanced pixel shaders should see a dramatic increase in performance.
GameSpy: Gearbox has consistently expressed a desire to bring cooperative play to the PC version of Halo. What work has Gearbox done in this regard, and do you foresee co-op coming in any future updates?
hmm smells like they have their noses up nvidia's shader 3.0

.... all they have to do is fix the sound issues.... as simply turning of the sound will nearly double your FPS in the game... (of course.. it should be quaddruple with the kind of power we are supplying the game with)..... me wonders if Co-op will be added...

No official co-op, they will see if the mod community creates one. But the shaders should increase performance on all cards, regardless of 1.1, 2.0 etc.
