HL2 Hardware Survey

"The results of the Half Life 2 Hardware Survey are in with over a half a million people taking part in the survey. Most interesting is the fact that most people are still using older low-end NVIDIA based graphics cards. Of the people using newer graphics cards, ATi 9600/9700/9800 cards dominate with very few people using newer GFFX 5700/5900/5950 hardware. There is a lot more information to be gleaned from the survey results, take a few minutes and have a look, the results might just surprise you.

This mostly automated survey collects information about Steam users' computer hardware (and some software). Valve plans to use this information to tune the performance of Half-Life 2. In three days, the survey has so far collected information from almost half a million respondents."

BWX will become famous soon enough

Well I certainly hope that just because most people use cheap low-end Nvida cards running in 16bit color mode, that they don't decide to "tune" the game for those systems.

wertret is on a distinguished road

It's a very significative point that those who have upgraded to new VPUs have chosen ATI

Lets hope not. I want to see the game soon, not another year because there are a lot of people only playing CS and decide to stick with old Geforce MX cards so Valve decides to code the game again for them.
