I recommend not uninstalling 1078 unless its necessary as uninstalling these SP betas can cause media player, IE, or basically any MS program plus any programs you have installed since you installed the SP beta.
So try to install on the top first....if it dont work then rollback

Slipstreamed Copy ...
Also another interesting note. I slipstreamed my copy and did a fresh install. I then used some XP pro keys (generated ones) and for what ever reason the activation portion will not work as it always returns an incorrect key. Wonder if they have been able to take care of the XP key generator and the keys that it makes.

actually if you didnt archive then you cant uninstall anyways as it has no files to uninstall to
that would mean reformatting
trust me ive over installed every last build and it has never ever once said no to me

MS's strategy is so ass-backwards sometimes...

So basically you're saying that if microsoft, rather than doing this, just decided to give "almost complete" service packs which are very stable to the public and had absolutely no protection whatsoever and allowed pirated windows versions to run them, it would be better? I think not. If they did this, the peeps with pirated windows would just use the betas. I mean... they are stable aren't they? So why try to crack the final release when you pretty much have it already?

dalasstar, the new algorithm is already included with the beta sp1s, the final sp1 will work fine on corp versions as long as you don't slipstream it.

i have a legit key, all im saying is that M$ is fighting a battle that cant be won, this has been going on since win 98 and they havent won yet. i never said it was right but when MS goes from charging $80 for an OS to $300 theyre just asking to be pirated.
And why are they gonna use betas when they can easily crack the official.
Unfortunatly that is the was of the technical and internet age...has made software security almost obselete.
