XIII Review at Gamespot
"XIII is a cel-shaded first-person shooter based on a long-running French comic book of the same name. The game definitely plays up its comic book roots, complete with readable sound effects and comic-book-like panels that pop up while you're playing. While it definitely has a certain sense of style to it, the game itself misses its mark, and the total package isn't one that will hold the interest of most first-person shooter player"

aparently the copy protection causes problems with certain cdrw drives (mainly lite-on) last i knew, dells shipped with lite-on drives. last i knew, thousands of people own dell computers, i have a feeling alot of kids are not going to be to happy with this.
lite-on firmware updates dont fix the problem, as of now. and ubi hasnt released a patch, as of now.
luckily i have a lite-on dvd drive, and it works fine with that, most kids, espessally the dell kids, only have the one lite-on cdrw.
some people are having problems with their mouse, i have some problems, but not in game. just on the menus the mouse seems strange to navigate..
oh, and the whoisxiii.com's fourmn is like talking to a brick wall.
but beside that, the game runs well on my system, and has a great story/gameplay. i love the cel-shading, and the comic book effect. the multi-player is pretty cool too. they have a demo for that aswell
you can get it at gamershell.com

I don't know about the mouse problem, but people having problems with CD copy protection with Lite-On drives can just burn an ISO image of the game and run it in a virtual CD drive. Not only will it bypass the CD protection but it will also enable faster CD-ROM access times.
I run all of my games this way and the difference is amazing--particularly with the bug-ridden game, Grand Theft Auto 3.

plus, thats just an extra 1400MB of data on peoples hard drives, that shouldnt have to be there.
