Microsoft Windows Update CD released to beta Testers

"This should be of great news to consumers on dialup that want a quick way to apply a slew of updates available for the Windows 2000/Windows XP operating system:

Neowin has learned of a new beta released by Microsoft to its Windows Update Beta testers. The beta involves downloading an ISO of Microsoft's new "Windows Security Update CD". The CD, at 300 meg, contains most of Microsofts recent security patchs for Windows 2000 / XP users"

This seems like a good thing for broadband users too. This way you can get alot of the security updates in the system before you even go online. It'll help prevent getting virused-out before you are fully set up. That actually happened to me once.

You can avoid that happening with a firewall. and disabling the messenger service.

Uh, I think they knew that zero. I'm sure in SOME situation where a firewall configuration is not inplace or impossible to impliment - then they need to be aware of these changes and take appropriate action.
